Today readers, I have E.B. Michaels the erotic romance author here for a author interview. E.B. will be answering a few questions and giving insight. I hope you all enjoy reading the interview. Here it all goes.
Bio: E.B. Michaels is a new erotic romance author who released her new book Fierce Attraction in July 2015. It’s available in print and in eBook. When E.B. isn’t writing she can be found spending time with her daughter. E.B. Michaels writes at her home in a remote part of Kentucky. She enjoys nature hikes, boating, and spending time with her family.
– So tell us a little about yourself and about your background.
I’m a stay at home mom, writer, and avid reader. I love to read and can get into just about anything. Well, until it makes me mad and then I just lay it down so I can run back to it in five minutes. Even when I get mad at the book I can’t put it down for long.
– Where do ideas for your books come from?
I get inspiration from anything. Mostly, from something I’ve seen, or when I listen to music ideas come to me. I have a playlist setup for when I write and it all just flows. I love music next to books. I have a great imagination so that helps a lot too.
– As a writer I’m sure you love to read. Who is your favorite author and why?
If I had to choose just one then I would have to say Nora Roberts. She is the reason I even began reading romance. She was my mother’s favorite author and I guess I’m like my mother a lot since she was a big book lover. Nora Roberts wrote the first romance book I read and then I was hooked.
– What books are you currently reading?
Currently, I haven’t started reading a book yet. I just put one down a couple days ago and haven’t picked up another one yet. My last one was a Blaze Harlequin book called “Isabelle’s Command”.
– Where do you gain inspiration from?
Everything, just being outside causing me to think up amazing things. I don’t like to brag, but telling a story has always been something I’ve been good at. My mother, who never published, was a great writer so I like to think I’ve inherited it from her.
– If you find yourself with writer’s block, what method do you use to get around it?
Music, it’s the key to everything. I love Pandora radio on my IPhone and then put a set of ear buds with it, I could write all day.
– I have to ask. What made you decide to write erotic romance?
I love romance and I’m a romantic at heart. There is just something about reading, and writing the erotic scenes that’s exhilarating. Erotic romance isn’t for everyone, but for me it’s like I’m telling the part of the story that you know exists, but isn’t always out there in detail for viewing.
– I love your book cover. Tell us a little about it. Who designed it for you?
My book cover for “Fierce Attraction” was something I wasn’t sure about at first. Like most erotic romance books I thought I wanted the couple on the front who were tangled together, but it didn’t turn out that way. I hired a lady to design it and when she came up with my book cover I loved it. It captures how my main character truly feels. You have to read it to completely appreciate it.
– Writing can be stressful. How do you relax?
When I find myself stressed out I unwind with my daughter. She at times thinks I’m nuts, but I’ll walk through my house and announce we are going somewhere fun. She doesn’t question me anymore she just goes with the flow. If that doesn’t do the job then a glass of wine with a close friend does the trick.
– What is your favorite positive saying?
“What doesn’t kill you just makes you stronger.”
– Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully, I’m still writing. I love to write and as long as I’m doing that then I’m fine with wherever I end up.
– I’m so curious, so I have to ask you. How did you come up with your latest book?
I have first handed seen what domestic violence does to women and men alike. When I started writing I had a friend on my mind and I couldn’t stop myself from brining something that effects so many people to attention. My friend isn’t any character in my book, nor is her experience, but the topic of domestic violence is.
-What about the title “Fierce Attraction”. How did you come up with it?
It seemed to fit since the two characters were so very attracted to each other. They didn’t just have a simple attraction, or lust, they were fiercely attracted. Hence, Fierce Attraction.
– I’m excited to hear about what future projects your working on.
Right now, I’m working on a couple different things. Mainly, I’m working on an erotic romance that I hope to be finished with by spring.
– Is there anything you would like to say to aspiring writers?
Write, if it’s all you think about then do it.
– What would you like to say to your readers?
I hope what I write make you feel what the characters feel. I want my readers to be able to relate, or know someone who can relate to my characters.
